Fun with tesselations

These were done for a freelance assignment, an editorial piece for a magazine. I had a great time figuring out how to pull it off. In case you were wondering what the heck are tesselations it's the kind of art MC Esher did, and they have some kind of math behind them, which I largely ignored because it makes my head hurt. I think Escher liked the math part though.

T-shirts for the fam

I was asked to do a few designs for our family reunion t-shirt. These were the ones rejected, but the ones I liked the best (of course.) Ok I'll admit the octopus is a bit odd, but I think he is way cool!

I feel like I should apologize for being so lame in neglecting my blog. There has been sort of a perfect storm in my life as of late. Normal things like too much freelance (is that possible?) and our project at work is nearing completion, and not so normal things like Rosemary being diagnosed with cancer. But I have done a few images recently you all might enjoy...... which I shall put up momentarily. BTW Rosemary has a great blog of her own talking about what its like to endure cancer...she also has a real engaging writing style (i think.) Check it out at "My Unintentional Life".
